The Lion’s Kingdom Story
Welcome to the heart of my journey, where I found my purpose and embarked on a path that led to the creation of men's retreats in the captivating landscape of Medellin, Colombia.
In 2019, I set out on my third world tour visiting over 70 countries, and among the many adventures that awaited me, Medellin held a special place in my heart. It was here that I attended my first ayahuasca retreat, a momentous step in my personal and spiritual growth. At that time, my body was weighed down by trauma, and I felt profoundly disconnected from myself. The profound healing and transformation I experienced during that retreat left an indelible mark on my soul, and I began to fall in love with this enchanting country.
Colombia captured my heart, not just for its stunning natural beauty, but for the warmth of its people, the vibrant energy, rich culture, and its beautiful climate. I felt an inexplicable sense of belonging here, and I started to forge deep connections with both the land and its inhabitants.
Yet, life called me back to work as a private chef on super yachts, forcing me to leave this newfound haven. However, the longing to return and continue my healing journey with various plant medicines persisted, compelling me to visit Colombia multiple times a year.
When the world began to shut down during the pandemic, I found myself in a unique predicament. In the face of adversity, I knew that Colombia was where I was meant to be. There were moments of despair, such as being denied entry into the country, but I remained steadfast in my determination to plant my roots and build my kingdom here. My own nomadic childhood, constantly moving between three different countries, left me yearning for a place to call home.
In the midst of an ayahuasca ceremony, I received a profound revelation: my mission was to grow food and build a kingdom for my family. This revelation sparked a two-year journey of searching for the perfect property in the Antioquia region. I scoured over 75 properties in more than 20 towns and villages, coming close to sealing deals only to see them crumble. But I refused to be deterred.
One lonely night, after a grueling shift working on a yacht in Montenegro during a winter Christmas, I found myself lying in my bunk bed in a tiny cabin. Exhausted, yet determined to pursue my dream, I continued scouring the internet in search of the perfect place for my kingdom. And then, it happened. I stumbled upon a breathtaking 12-acre plot of land. The view and the landscape immediately captured my heart.
Over the next 40 days, I made a life-altering decision. I left the job I had come to detest, freeing myself from its constraints, and embarked on a journey to see this land in person. The moment I set foot on it, I knew this was the one. With the invaluable assistance of my remarkable lawyer, I navigated the complexities of negotiations and legalities. It wasn't easy, taking nearly three months of dedicated effort, but in April of 2023, I had the distinct honor of signing the deed that officially made this land my kingdom.
During this transformative phase, I delved into a network of coaches and mentors, immersing myself in a community of kindred spirits—men who, like me, were on a quest for self-discovery, greatness, self-love, and purpose. In this environment, I found the courage to take significant steps and embraced my authentic self in its entirety.
As I bared my soul and shared my story with vulnerability, a powerful revelation dawned on me: I was not alone in my journey. Many other men grappled with similar issues and yearned for guidance and accountability. It was this realization that gave birth to my vision of men's retreats—a sanctuary where men could come together to heal, grow, and unearth their purpose.
